Job Description:

This person is responsible for developing, optimizing and validating new FA and QC methodologies for semiconductor lab applications, primarily using existing and prototype FIB-SEM instruments, will be key in deploying the new methodologies to field application engineers and to users (customers), and will also contribute to hardware and software development efforts.  This position reports to VP Semi Manufacturing Technology.

Role / Responsibilities:

  • Implement semiconductor products at labs supporting semiconductor wafer processes.

  • Lead in-house development FIB-SEM efforts (both hardware and software) and help in deployment to customers. 

  • Obtain first-hand knowledge of semiconductor FIB-SEM applications at customer sites and identify areas for improvement as well as new market opportunities.

  • Work jointly and hands-on with internal hardware and software development groups.

  • Provide technical guidance to Solutions Managers and sales team.

  • Lead and perform customer tool acceptance on newly released products.

  • Perform Applications Troubleshooting and follow-up reports with customers.

  • Provide applications training and technical support to customers.

  • Attend and present at professional conferences.

  • Willingness to travel < 30%.

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of hands-on experience in FIB-SEM sample preparation.  Prefer applications with semiconductor lab experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in development of new processes or methodologies using FIB-SEM instruments.
  • Experience in Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC).

  • Excellent communication skills, self-direction, integrity, positive thinking, strong learning desires and good teamwork.

  • Master or PhD Degree in Engineering, Physics or Chemistry.
