Senior Project Manager

Job Description:

Our client is a global player in capital equipment for the electronics industry, with an emphasis in the U.S. and Asia.  A new role has opened for a senior project manager who will be a key growth enabler for our client’s semiconductor equipment business. The new hire will manage new product development projects from requirements through customer acceptance using the company’s design review process in collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, sales and service. This position reports to Vice President of Engineering and will be based at corporate headquarters in New Jersey.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. or equivalent in Physical Sciences or Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in high-tech equipment
  • 3+ years of experience in project management or in a position leading a cross-functional engineering group
  • Experience in semiconductor or semiconductor equipment industry is a plus
  • Experience with phase-gate product development or product lifecycle (PLC) processes is a plus
  • Self-motivated and proactive with strong critical thinking abilities
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to inspire teams and solve problems
  • Excellent technical written and oral communications skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel domestic and international up to 20%

 Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams from various disciplines within Hardware, Software and Manufacturing groups to deliver on technical projects and new products
  • Manage technical requirements and feature list and synchronize activities between different engineering groups including multi-site programs (US with Korea or China)
  • Manage the release timeline, project schedule and engineering budget
  • Deliver communication/presentations to drive decision making process with leadership team
  • Identify and resolve conflicts, inter-dependencies and project issues quickly and efficiently
