Our client is a Boston-based division of a world leader in specialty chemicals/materials and innovative technologies. The company is currently seeking an Applications Engineer for its electronic materials organization.
The Applications Engineer will be responsible for the engineering work on a wide variety of metallization processes. This position requires hands-on operation of wafer metallization process and equipment. The individual will also maintain process logs, electronic databases and ancillary process documentation is required.
Responsibilities include:
Accountability for engineering projects including: process baselining, optimization, customer application projects.
Being the principal metallization process owner, operating metallization processes and associated equipment.
Helping to establish project plans, monitoring performance according to the plans and accountability for delivering goals and objectives on target.
Supervising or directing technicians or co-ops, or directing activities of a group.
Assisting to create policies and procedures.
Identifying opportunities for improvement or business gains.
Giving formal and routine presentations to all levels including top management and customers.
Documenting experimental plans and results; issuing to all appropriate members.
Qualifications:
BS or higher degree in Engineering is required for this position.
Minimum of 5 years of semiconductor industry experience focused in the area of wafer plating metallization.
Experience with Semitool, NEXX Systems, or other major tool vendors’ equipment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient with Word, excel, SAP and Outlook.
Demonstrated experience facilitating performance management and employee development.
Ability to work with global work teams and cross-functional teams such as R&D and other departments.
Ability to be seated or in standing positions for prolonged periods of time.
Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. is required for this position.
